USA Ultimate UX Redesign
This project can be broken up into two phases. The first phase is the research phase. I compared the USAU sites to common UX best practices to evaulate the usability, findability, visual design, and content of the two sites. The next thing in this phase was user interviews. I broke up the target audience into two user persona groups and conducted 4 interviews for each of the personas. This gave me great insight into the users' needs, the users' tendencies, and the websites' pain points. Once I had completed these interviews I identified three main areas to focus this redesign, the navigation, the events page, and the events search feature. In addition to these features, I also recreated the home page and login/account creation flows. I used card sorts and tree tests to iterate through a new navigation setup. The next phase of this project was the design. I worked from user flows to low fidelity wireframes, then to mid fidelity frames before creating high fidelity frames for the final clickable prototype. At each stage of the design phase I did some simple user testing to ensure my design was having the intended impacts and giving me feedback from users on what tweaks to make.
This project is a UX evaluation and proposed redesign of the USA Ultimate websites. Currently, USA Ultimate uses two separate sites that are interconnected for all of their online information and tasks. This setup is not intuitive and not welcoming to people who are new to the sport. It is challenging for USAU to grow the sport with a poor online presence.
