Through the Quiet Lens is a web-based visual novel game that delves into the challenges of college student stress, anxiety, and mental health through a narrative-driven, choose-your-own-adventure format. Players guide Sage, a second-semester college student, as she navigates daily life, academic pressures, and personal emotional struggles. Each choice the player makes influences Sage's responses, relationships, and overall storyline, allowing for a deeply personalized experience. Featuring all-original art, a clean, intuitive user interface, and emotionally expressive visuals, the game prioritizes storytelling and user experience while keeping the focus on relatable themes of self-doubt, expectations, and growth. Built on a flexible, data-driven narrative engine, Through the Quiet Lens is scalable and reusable, offering future opportunities for expansion and adaptation to a wide variety of demographics. The game’s introspective journey offers players insight into the complexities of mental health and encourages reflection on their own experiences.
