Luminara: An Interactive Theme Park Map
This interactive, physical model amusement park map represents an imaginary section/land (called Luminara, a made up planet) of an imaginary park (Galaxy Gardens). It has both physical (the 3D map itself) and digital (a web-based application) components. As one approaches, the physical miniature attractions stand out first: this part was created with various fabrication techniques (3D modeling/3D printing, et cetera) and brought to life with physical computing (buildings lighting up, rides moving/spinning, et cetera). Then, upon further investigation, one will encounter the digital element: you can use the scanning pads (custom AR codes) to unlock various characters (3D modeled/designed) from both of the dueling factions of this planet (the Solari and Noctari) to see how they fit into the disappearance of the ever-important Eclipse Pearl artifact! And, if one wants to explore even deeper, walking to the locations of rides on a real life scale uncovers more story details with the special stations. This project is aimed at theme park goers of all ages to be an interesting attraction to look at/further immerse them into the world of this hypothetical park's story.
