The Urban Heat Island Effect is something that very few people talk about, even in the context of climate change. We set out to change that with our capstone project, Canopy. This interactive art exhibit allows users to select different cities' forecasts. These forecasts get interpreted by a node.js server, which then tells an arduino how to react, causing lights to emote in certain ways based off of parameters related to the Urban Heat Island Effect.

Canopy is an interactive art exhibit designed to represent weather data and the Urban Heat Island Effect in a physical display, using parasols, lights, and motors.
